Why do people attend Action Parent & Teen Support Group meetings? It may be because they have no other
place to turn to.
Why ACTION?
Being a parent of a teenager can be tough enough. Add additional problems,
family conflicts, trouble at school, and drugs or alcohol, and it can seem
impossible.
ACTION: A parent and Teen Support Program was created because we know
what worry, pain, and frustration you as a parent can experience when your child
needs help.

ACTION PARENT GROUP
ACTION Parent Groups are gatherings of concerned parents who meet to offer
each other support and practical solutions to problems. Each group is led by a
parent who has been trained as an ACTION Group Facilitator, and who has been
there too.
Because of our own experiences in dealing with teen problems, we are able to
understand and offer suggestions that have been found to be effective. We know
that you want the best for your family and we realize how important your family
is to you. We also understand that trying to face there problems alone can be
overwhelming and tightening at times.
ACTION offers a safe place to talk, cry, laugh, and to discuss our teens behavior
with others who can offer practical solutions.

ACTION TEEN GROUP
While the parents are meeting, the teens attend an ACTION Teen Group. These
groups are led by counselors experienced in working with young people. Growing
up in today’s world, making the wrong choices can sometimes be deadly! Teens
are faced with pressures and decisions that can be confusing and frustrating.
ACTION offers a place for teens to learn behaviors that will work for them. They
learn skills to promote healthier and happier lifestyles.
